2  现在为香港浸会大学访问学者,曾在复旦大学和上海国际关系学院做客座讲师。 

 

讲座主题:

A, "Postcard" Foreign Correspondence: Based on my teaching today at Hong Kong Baptist University, teaching 120 mainland Chinese how to produce "foreign" reporting from their own country … for a potentially global audience (教学生怎样向外国观众报道中国)

B, My documentary film on post-Apartheid South Africa, now underway and pegged to the 20th anniversary of the first democratic elections: Echoes of Apartheid: How One Small South African Town Struggles to Shed Its Racist Past. For your students, how they can prepare and produce their own documentary film on a meaningful topic. (在南非拍摄纪录片的经历)。 

About the speaker:

Michael J. Jordan is a freelance foreign correspondent based in southern Africa who for nearly 20 years has reported from 28 countries, mostly across post-Communist Eastern Europe. Before Lesotho, he was based in Hungary, at the United Nations, then in Slovakia, reporting for the Christian Science Monitor, Foreign Policy, Global Post, Harvards Nieman Reports, and many others. For the past decade, he's also trained student-journalists and professional journalists  on four continents. He currently teaches international reporting in Prague, health journalism in Lesotho, and just returned to Hong Kong Baptist University as a five-time Visiting Scholar within the International Journalism program.
